The leaked zionist group chat: a collective statement regarding recent disinformation
Collective text
From First Nations, Palestinians, Lebanese and anti-zionist Jewish people, activist collectives, community leaders, artists, including those targeted by the zionist group chat.
The leaked zionist group chat provides critical insight into how zionists organise and operate in so-called progressive arts, academic and media spaces. It demonstrates the coordinated efforts of those working to silence criticism of the zionist state.
Many of us were shocked and disturbed by the contents of the transcript as we read the tactics discussed to target and harm the livelihood and reputation of good and just people, some for simply being Palestinian, and almost all for calling for an end to the genocide against the people of Gaza.
The decision to share this leaked transcript more broadly – via an instagram tile providing a link to a secure folder – was not made by any one person but by a large collective and network of people including First Nations people, Palestinians, Lebanese, anti-zionist Jews, activist collectives, community leaders, those targeted by the chat themselves, and artists.
This is evidenced by the range of accounts and platforms that organically disseminated the link.
To displace the responsibility onto one person in our community for sharing the transcript is scapegoating and wrong.
The zionist group chat was leaked by a whistleblower, ONE OF THE GROUP’S OWN MEMBERS.
The names of the zionist group chat members can be obtained from within the transcript itself. All other information shared came from the transcript or is publicly available online.
There were no addresses shared. There were no phone numbers shared. There were no emails shared. These were deliberately redacted.
There were no private photographs, and certainly no photographs of children shared.
Any media reports to the contrary are blatant lies, distortion, and clearly in service of orchestrating an alternative narrative.
What was shared was a leaked chat transcript demonstrating the coordinated efforts of many working to silence support for Palestinian liberation.
The transcript clearly demonstrates collective actions taken to contact employers, funding bodies, publishers and journalists to censure anyone deemed to be a threat to zionist ideology. Some of these efforts were successful, the firing of Antoinette Lattouf being but one example.
Many members of the leaked zionist group chat targeted and organised against First Nations people, Palestinians, Arabs and allies who work in the service of justice and human rights.
People in the arts, academia and journalism who speak out and act against racist apartheid states, settler colonialism and genocide have a right to feel culturally safe and to be protected from ill-intent and malicious behaviour, including targeting, harassment, anti-Blackness, and anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab racism.
To frame the sharing of this information as antisemitic or ‘doxxing’ is an attempt to distract and deflect from the bigoted rhetoric and organised aggression enacted by many in the zionist group chat against activists, artists, academics and anyone who speaks up for Palestine.
Sharing the transcript is in the public interest — for fairness and for justice. For an end to the plotting and enacting of personal and professional harm against us.
We as a community refuse intimidation tactics, gaslighting, censoring, deceit, and distortion of media narratives.
And now, all eyes must remain on Palestine and neighbouring homelands under zionist bombardment.
